What this policy covers

This policy explains what information this site collects, why it is collected, and what choices you have. It applies to the pages published under this domain and to messages you send us through the address listed on the contact page.

We keep the practice deliberately narrow. Moorland Theodolite publishes informational material; it is not a customer account system, and it does not ask you to register, log in, or build a profile.

Information collected automatically

Like most sites, our host records standard technical request data: the IP address your connection presents, the browser and operating system reported by your device, the page requested, the time of the request, and the referring page if your browser sends one.

This information is produced by the act of serving a page and is used to keep the site running, to understand which pages are read, and to investigate abuse or malfunction. It is not used to build an advertising profile of you.

Information you give us

If you write to the address on the contact page, we receive whatever you put in that message: your email address, your name if you sign it, and the content of the message itself. We use it to answer you.

We do not sell that correspondence, and we do not add the address to a mailing list without you asking.

Cookies and similar technologies

Where a page sets a cookie, it is to remember a display preference or to allow an embedded media player to function. You can refuse or delete cookies in your browser settings; the informational pages remain readable without them.

We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request, so that we do not disclose someone else's information to the wrong person.

Children

Moorland Theodolite is intended for adults. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the revised version is posted on this page. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the revised policy.
